At Bates Golf Services we strive to focus our planning efforts on maintaining a natural balance with the environmental setting of golf course development, especially through enhancement and the preservation of the environmental resources.
Environmental planning efforts can have a great effect on golf course development, but often involve multiple parties and numerous requirements. At Bates Golf Services, we have the expertise to assist clients with every aspect of golf course development and environmental planning. Our specialists also have the expertise in permitting assistance and mitigation planning.

Denise has been forever an integral part of the family business. Her talents and contributions are directed to the environmental and permitting process of Bates Golf Service’s responsibility.
Denise has experience in both the government and private sector of the environmental permitting regulatory process. Additionally she practiced with Williamsburg Environmental Group (WEG), Williamsburg Virginia as a Permitting Assistant for private and government projects. Denise also helped with the opening of WEG’s Florida office before joining the Stuart office of the South Florida Water Management District. She gained a thorough understanding of SFWMD’s process of permitting regulations and is a valuable resource for expediting the permitting process.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and attained her Master’s of Science degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Denver. She is the granddaughter of Ron Kirby and daughter of Gene Bates.
